Kulfi is a delicious frozen treat similar to ice cream but creamier and tastier! You can prepare it at home with only a few basic ingredients. Let’s see how!
Needed Ingredients
- 35 Almonds
- 1/4 cup and 2 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 and 2 cups thick milk without added water
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- some crushed nuts
Steps to make Kulfi
Step 1: Prepare Almond paste
- Soak almonds in a water for 3-4 hours
- peel the skin and grind them with 1/4 cup of milk into a smooth paste
Step 2: Prepare caramel
- In a pan add 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon water mix well on low flame
- once it becomes brown, add 2-3 tablespoon of warm water and mix well to combine and switch off the stove
- stir continously to avoid burning
Step 3: cook prepared things and milk
- Cool the caramel for 2 minutes and add 2 cup of milk; stir continously to mix well
- Add Almonds paste and mix well
- add 2 tablespoon of sugar
- Cook the mixture until it become half and thicken
- Add cardamom powder mix well for 2 minutes and off the stove
Step 4: Grind the mixture
- Grind the Kulfi mixture until it becomes smooth like texture
Step 4: Pour and Freeze
- Once the kulfi mixture has cooled to room temperature
- Pour the kulfi mixture into a small cups or ice cream molds, cover with foil, insert ice cream sticks and freeze for 8 to 10 hours or over night
Step 5: Unmold and Serve
- TO unmold, put the mold in a warm water for 5 second and slowly pul it up
- garnish with some chopped nuts and enjoy your homemade kulfi
