A popular South Indian dessert, Mysore Pak is famous for its creamy, mouthwatering texture. This treat, which comes from Mysore, Karnataka, is now popular at festivals and other special events.
Needed Ingredients
- 1 cup Chickpea flour
- 1.5 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Oil
- 1 cup Ghee
Steps to Make Mysore Pak
Step 1: Heat Oil and Ghee
- In a pan heat the oil and Ghee in a medium flame
- Heat this until it becomes hot
Step 2: Prepare Sugar Syrup
- In another pan add 1.5 cup of sugar and add 3/4 cup of water cook the mixture on a medium flame
- Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves completely and keep cooking until the syrup has the consistency of “one string.”
Step 3: Add Chickpea flour
- Add Chickpea flour to the sugar syrup gradually
- stir continously to avoid lumps in a medium flame
Step 4: Add Heated Oil and Ghee to the Mixture
- Add heated oil and ghee one by one tablespoon after adding one tablespoon stir well until this oil and ghee mixture is absorbed
- Continue this process until the ghee and oil mixture is combine and the mixture becomes forthy consistency
Step 5: Set the Mysore Pak
- pour the mixture immediately into the oil greased tray and spread evenly
- Leave the mixture to cool for 5 minutes and cut it into your favorite shape. while it’s still in warm
- And let them cool to room temperature and cut them into a pieces and enjoy your homemade Mysore Pak .
